Lotus Capital is an operationally-focused private equity firm.

Lotus was established in 2007 to work alongside experienced management teams to make asset-backed control investments with highly attractive risk/reward characteristics. We primarily target green-field projects or turnaround situations in the agriculture, renewable energy and mining sectors. Our hands-on approach leads to an active focus on very few select investments. Our team has extensive experience sourcing, analyzing, financing, developing, managing and exiting investment projects. We always strive to combine the highest quality analysis, operational rigor and integrity in everything we do.

We invest equity in small to medium sized projects with total costs typically below $100 million.

Our investment criteria are:

• Businesses with strong market positions
• Low supply and off-take risks
• Experienced management teams
• Excellent cash flow potential
• High returns on capital with asset protection on downside
• We bring deep financial, operating, engineering, business development and managerial experience to our portfolio companies, where we actively work alongside management on a day-to-day basis.

Lotus Capital also has a philanthropic investment arm called Lotus Foundation. Our vision for the foundation is to seed entrepreneurs to build businesses that present new, creative and sustainable solutions to the most daunting social and economic challenges – poverty, education, healthcare, shelter, water, nutrition, energy and sanitation.

The foundation will make grass-roots investments that are scalable and have the potential for measurable social impact.
